Governance and Civic Manager

Bolsover District Council
37 hours per week

Bolsover District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.

 

We are looking to recruit a Governance and Civic Officer to our small but hard-working team who manage the Council’s democratic processes and support the civic functions of the Council.  The service requires an enthusiastic person to work alongside Councillors, senior officers, parish and town councils and members of the public.

 

In this role you will be expected to support a range of committee meetings, as well as organising and assisting with civic events.

 

The successful candidate will need to be approachable, be an excellent communicator, have the ability to solve problems and work under minimal supervision.  Attention to detail is essential and you will need to manage a varied workload.  Training will be provided as well as  ongoing personal development including support to study for the ADSO Certificate in Democratic Services Knowledge or the ADSO Diploma in Democratic Services Knowledge.

 

The ability to occasionally work unsocial/out of hours events or evening meetings is required.
